Desktop
Yoga
Desktop Yoga has been designed to be practiced at your office desk. Sessions
can run from 30 to 90 minutes, and can be conducted within a small space
without the need for special equipment or clothing. All you need is a
chair and your normal working attire. This simplicity makes Desktop Yoga
sessions ideal for conferences, training sessions and offices where space
and time is limited!
Each
session consists of simple Yoga poses and stretches especially suited
to the office worker, to release tension across the neck, shoulders,
lower and upper back areas. These stretches are complimented by modified
Yoga standing poses to address correct posture, both seated and standing
and bring strength and tone to the entire body. Sessions conclude with
a relaxation period or meditation practice, to bring clarity and calmness
to the mind.
Our
aim for Desktop Yoga is to teach participants how to stretch at their
desk and encourage them to incorporate these movements into their normal
working day – just as having a cuppa becomes part of their day,
so too will Desktop Yoga.
Our
teaching style is informal, gentle and relaxed, and each participant
is encouraged to practice to their own body’s ability, stretching
and strengthening at their individual pace, with poses modified to suit
these individual needs. Classes aren’t too strenuous, so a shower
afterwards isn’t necessary.
WellBeing@Work Desktop Yoga sessions can be incorporated
into your conference or staff training session - as a short stretch
break or as a 90 minute full Yoga and Meditation Workshop (see Wellbeing
Workshop) to deal with stress in the workplace. As time and space is
flexible the maximum number of participants is only limited by the number
of chairs in the room.
Classes
can be booked as a one off session or in six weeks blocks. Desktop Yoga
can be conducted anytime across the working day, including sessions
at lunchtime or before and after work - or you could book a Desktop
Yoga session for your next conference.
